Saved Lives
His Caring Place has seen countless lives changed through God’s intervention in the hearts and lives of the young ladies who have passed through our home. Here are a few of their testimonies.
When I first became pregnant, everything went downhill! Then my parents found out about His Caring Place, and it was a wonderful experience for me. It grew me up. It also allowed me to go through my pregnancy with other girls in my situation. I finished my education and learned how to be a good mom. After leaving the home, the Lord found me a wonderful husband, and we now have two children. I’m very thankful for His Caring Place. —Wendy, resident (1987)
My baby’s father wanted me to have an abortion, but I didn’t want to . . . I called His Caring Place, and they told me to come in on April 28, and on that day, I went into labor and gave birth to my son, Levonte . . . I thought, “Thank you God for answering my prayers.” I drew closer to the Lord in so many ways—emotionally, spiritually. He has shown me a lot. I was not only in a maternity home, but I was with people who felt like family; I could confide in them . . . It’s so amazing what the Lord has done for Levonte and me. Since the day that he was born, the Lord has met all of our needs. —Latoya, resident (2004)
While at His Caring Place, I made one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. About four months into my pregnancy, I decided on an adoption plan. I wanted my child placed in a loving environment with a mother and father to care for her. After much prayer and consideration, I selected a strong Christian family to raise my child. I gave birth to a beautiful daughter, and now we both have a new life. She’s in a better place, and I am now getting my life together. God used His Caring Place to show me that other people can and want to help. Now I want to do the same for others. —Leah, resident (2004)
Bethany,22: “ God has been opening my eyes to so many things culminating in my baptism in April. He is giving me focus and direction for my life. When I am anxious about the future, I remember Jeremiah 29:11 and Proverbs 3:5-6 and that God wants the best for me and for my daughter. Now I want to be sure that this little girl has the benefits of a foundation in faith.”
Cledia 15: “I recently became a Christian. One of my favorite verses is Jeremiah 29:11 because it reminds me that God has put me here on earth for a reason. Even though I don’t know what will happen, He has already planned my future out. I am anxious to finish school and graduate so that I can get a good job that will allow me to take care of myself and may baby. My favorite subject is Language Arts and I love to read. My prayer request this Mother’s Day is that my baby is born healthy and strong.”
Derbie, 15: “I used to have a problem with attendance at school, but now I enjoy it and my grades are getting better. My favorite classes are English, Biology, and Drama (even though I have stage fright). I would like to go to medical school. I enjoy writing prayers in my diary and seeing God answer them. I am grateful that I don’t have morning sickness any more and I found out I am expecting a baby boy.
Luz, 22: I am so happy that my baby boy is sleeping through the night. I named him Elijah so that he would do great things for God. He loves to smile and laugh, particularly when we play praise and worship music! I am now a semester away from my Associate’s degree in Fashion Design/Marketing and then I plan to get my Bachelor’s degree in Business.
Kim, 21: I am so thankful that my son Tyler is healthy. Many times I thought I didn’t want to bring a child into this world, but now I am encouraged by Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old,he will not turn from it.” I want to bring Tyler up in a Christian home so that he will always come back to Jesus, no matter what the circumstances are. My prayer request is that I continue to walk closely with the Lord as I make a decision about learning a trade.
