How Can I Help?
Pray
The most important way to help is to pray. The power of prayer is a vital and integral part of the work of this ministry. Please pray for:
| • | Changed lives through God’s love and grace |
| |
| • | Health; both for these young women and their babies |
| |
| • | Physical and spiritual needs to be met |
| |
| • | Leadership and staff at His Caring Place |
| |
| • | Mentors and volunteers who spend time furthering this ministry through their time and efforts |
| |
| • | Protection and provision of God’s Hand to be on this ministry |
Our current prayers requests from the girls are:
| • | God’s guidance as we make our parenting or adoption plans |
| |
| • | Salvation for new young ladies |
| |
| • | Wisdom for the future |
| |
| • | That the girls would discover their gifts and talents as they discover the plans God has for them |
| |
| • | Upcoming Walk for Life event |
| |
| • | Healthy pregnancies and babies |
| |
| • | Host homes for girls graduating from our programs (provide care for 3, 6, or 12 months) |
| |
| • | Wisdom for the future |
| |
| • | Success in school (scholarship availability) |
| |
| • | Healthy babies |
| |
| • | Employment opportunities |
| |
| • | Reconciliation with family members |
| |
| • | Provision of host families for post-aftercare |
| |
| • | Contentment in this season of life |
Contributions
The support that His Caring Place receives enables us to provide for the needs of those that God has entrusted to us. Our needs are diverse and include food, shelter, medical expenses, and clothing, among others. If you would like to support His Caring Place through a donation, here are some ways you can help.
| to make a contribution. |
Volunteer
Our volunteers are the backbone to the success of His Caring Place. We welcome and encourage volunteers to come and join us as we invest in the lives of God’s children. To better equip our volunteers, they must:
| • | Fill out a volunteer packet and complete the background-screening process. |
| |
| • | Attend a volunteer interview with a HCP staff member to determine where they would like to serve. |
| |
| • | Read and agree with the HCP family guidelines and program rules. |
Some of the areas where you can be involved are:
| • | Mentor/Birth Coach | | • | Teaching Life Skills |
| • | Bible Study | | • | Tutoring |
| • | Respite Care | | • | Transportation |
Mentor/Birth Coach
This role encompasses many facets. You become cheerleader, prayer warrior, and friend to one of our young residents as you take her under your wing and help prepare and disciple her during the span of her pregnancy. Coming alongside us, you will encourage her by attending birth classes and helping her design a birth plan for the hospital. Staying by her side during the birth experience will not only bless her, but also will bring you the joy of seeing God’s miracle of new life in both the mother and her child.
Teaching Life Skills
Whether you cook, sew, or share business-management principles, your skill is invaluable to these young ladies in equipping them for a successful future. You are the lifeblood of the educational experience at His Caring Place as you invest your time in helping them discover their God-given creative talents and abilities.
Bible Study
Bible study is vital to the time these young ladies spend at His Caring Place. Your teaching of God’s Word at a level they can relate to will create the foundation for a life directed toward Christ. By sharing your faith and answering their questions, your impact will be blessed as you rely on the Word of God to speak into their lives.
Tutoring
As the young ladies work on their educational needs, the time you invest in tutoring will enable them to further succeed in this area. It will also encourage and help them gain confidence as they complete this facet of growth. The flexibility and sacrifice you provide during this time in their lives will surely produce blessings in both your life and the life of the young mother as she sees God’s work in her life.
Respite Care
This role provides the respite that the houseparents so desperately need in order to stay fruitful in their ministry to all of the ladies. You are the firm but loving “babysitter” who treasures quality time with the girls (and sometimes their babies) as you exemplify what godly parenting truly is.
Transportation
This area of volunteering provides more than a means to get back and forth to appointments. Your mileage extends beyond the odometer to cover the ground in a young mother’s heart. By your warm smile, encouraging words, listening ears, and open heart, she will have the opportunity to respond to the unconditional love of Christ that you share. Your consistency and faithfulness in the simple act of driving will speak volumes into her life.
To become a volunteer, please call us to schedule an appointment and interview.
