The support that His Caring Place receives enables us to provide for the needs of those that God has entrusted to us. Our needs are diverse and include food, shelter, medical expenses, and clothing, among others. If you would like to support His Caring Place through a donation, here are some ways you can help.

Volunteer

Our volunteers are the backbone to the success of His Caring Place. We welcome and encourage volunteers; age 18 and over to come and join us as we invest in the lives of God’s children. To better equip our volunteers, they must:

•   Join one of our "Save the Day" Teams.
•   Fill out a volunteer packet and complete the background-screening process.

•   Attend a volunteer interview with a HCP staff member to determine where they would like to serve.

•   Read and agree with the HCP family guidelines and program rules.

Some of the areas where you can be involved are:

•   Mentor/Birth Coach    •   Teaching Life Skills
Baby-Rocker   •  Administration
•   Bible Study    •   Tutoring
•   All-Around Support    •   Transportation

Mentor/Birth Coach

This role encompasses many facets. You become cheerleader, prayer warrior, and friend to one of our young residents as you take her under your wing and help prepare and disciple her during the span of her pregnancy. Coming alongside us, you will encourage her by attending birth classes and helping her design a birth plan for the hospital. Staying by her side during the birth experience will not only bless her, but also will bring you the joy of seeing God’s miracle of new life in both the mother and her child.

Baby Rocker

The Volunteer is responsible for direct care service to one infant 0-6 months, who is living at His Caring Place. The Baby Rocker/Nanny will facilitate the provision of daily needed physical services to care for the infant while her mother is at work or school. One Baby Rocker/Nanny is needed per infant.

Teaching Life Skills

Whether you cook, sew, or share business-management principles, your skill is invaluable to these young ladies in equipping them for a successful future. You are the lifeblood of the educational experience at His Caring Place as you invest your time in helping them discover their God-given creative talents and abilities.

Bible Study

Bible study is vital to the time these young ladies spend at His Caring Place. Your teaching of God’s Word at a level they can relate to will create the foundation for a life directed toward Christ. By sharing your faith and answering their questions, your impact will be blessed as you rely on the Word of God to speak into their lives.

Tutoring

As the young ladies work on their educational needs, the time you invest in tutoring will enable them to further succeed in this area. It will also encourage and help them gain confidence as they complete this facet of growth. The flexibility and sacrifice you provide during this time in their lives will surely produce blessings in both your life and the life of the young mother as she sees God’s work in her life.

On-Call All-Around Support

The Volunteer On-call All-Around Support is responsible for assisting the House Parent with a variety of duties involving direct care service to residents and or their children 0-21, who are admitted to His Caring Place. Overseeing all house responsibilities and emergencies on a scheduled and on-call basis while House Parent is away from the home. Driving the girls or their children to and from a variety of places such as medical appointments, school, jobs, and church. Identify and encourage areas where the young ladies can grow. Give an accurate schedule of availability for volunteer hours. Be available to serve either at pre-arranged times and dates or on a “as needed basis” call list. Be able to provide a weekly commitment to a schedule pre-arranged time that can involve a full day or two half days per week.

Transportation

This area of volunteering provides more than a means to get back and forth to appointments. Your mileage extends beyond the odometer to cover the ground in a young mother’s heart. By your warm smile, encouraging words, listening ears, and open heart, she will have the opportunity to respond to the unconditional love of Christ that you share. Your consistency and faithfulness in the simple act of driving will speak volumes into her life.

Featured Story
Jane Doe Cindy grew up without the protection most take for granted in childhood. She and her sister were exposed to drugs, alcohol, verbal and physical abuse at very young ages. Her mom brought them with her to crack houses or when she prostituted herself. At age 7, Cindy was raped. It began a pattern of men molesting her throughout her childhood. "To distract myself," remembers Cindy, "I created my own imaginary world where everything was happy and safe. Eventually, I turned to alcohol to dull the pain. By 18, I was stripping. By 20, I was prostituting myself, and then I got pregnant." Alone, she had nowhere to go for help. But hope was just around the corner... One day, outside the DCF office, a stranger walked up to her and told her about His Caring Place. Right there, in the parking lot, she prayed to God and asked for forgiveness and a new life. "I found that new life at His Caring Place," she remembers. For the first time, she saw a stable, loving family, and she knew that was what she wanted for her daughter, Cloe. Now she is working and pursuing her education. "With God's help, I am breaking the cycle of my grandmother not being a mother to my mom, and my mom not being a mother to me. This cycle of neglect has stopped with me."
